Booking, Payment & Cancellation

  • Do I need to make a deposit when booking?
    For bookings with a flexible rate, no deposit is required. On the day of arrival, the total amount of the booking will be automatically charged to the credit card provided.

    For reservations with a non-refundable rate, the total amount will be charged directly at the time of booking via the payment method you selected in advance.

 

  • Which payment methods are accepted?
    For hotel bookings:
    We accept AMEX, Apple Pay, Diners, Discover, Klarna, Maestro, Mastercard, UnionPay (in euros), and Visa. Payment by invoice is only possible upon prior arrangement with Hotel Schani Wien Hauptbahnhof.

    On-site for food, drinks, and other services:
    Payment is possible with cash (euros), debit card, AMEX, Apple Pay, Diners, Discover, Google Pay, JCB, Maestro, Mastercard, UnionPay (in euros), Visa, and Vpay.

 

  • How long can I cancel free of charge?
    Bookings with a flexible rate can be cancelled or rebooked free of charge until 3:00 pm on the day of arrival. If a reservation is cancelled after 3:00 pm on the day of arrival, the entire stay will be charged your right to use the room will become void. Rebookings are subject to availability.

    For reservations with a non-refundable rate, the full amount is charged to the credit card at the time of booking. These reservations cannot be cancelled, changed, or refunded. If payment cannot be charged to the credit card, the hotel may cancel the reservation, which forfeits the right to use the room.

 

  • I’m travelling with my dog, is that allowed?
    Yes, dogs are very welcome! For the additional cleaning effort, we charge 19 € per night for your four-legged friend. When booking via our website, you can easily add your dog to your reservation.

Rooms & Stay

  • What are the check-in and check-out times?
    Your room will be ready for you from 3:00 pm onwards. If you arrive earlier, you are welcome to store your luggage in one of our lockers and start exploring Vienna right away.

    Check-out is until 12:00 noon.

 

  • Is the reception open 24 hours?
    Yes, our reception team is available around the clock, so you can check in anytime. If you’re arriving after midnight, please let us know by email in advance.

 

  • Is there an option for a late check-out?
    Yes, subject to availability, you can extend your stay until 2:00 pm for 10 € per additional hour.

 

  • How often will my room be cleaned?
    Out of love for the environment, we only clean your room during your stay upon request. You are welcome to let us know at check-in if you would like your room cleaned throughout your entire stay.

    If you decide spontaneously that you would like your room cleaned, please hang the green door sign on your outside doorknob by 11:00 am. Our housekeeping team will then clean your room the same day, of course free of charge.

 

  • How many rooms does the hotel have?
    Hotel Schani Wien Hauptbahnhof has 135 rooms.

Food & Drink

  • What are the breakfast hours?
    Our breakfast buffet is available Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 11:00 am and on weekends and public holidays from 7:00 am to 11:00 am.

 

  • How much does breakfast cost?
    Our breakfast buffet is 23 € per person. You can add it to your booking in advance or decide spontaneously at the hotel – just let our team at the reception know.

 

  • Can external visitors also have breakfast?
    Absolutely! Our breakfast is available to both hotel guests and external guests. So grab your friends or family and come to Hotel Schani Wien Hauptbahnhof – after all, a well-stocked buffet with a sumptuous selection of delicacies is the best way to start the day.

    Tables can not be reserved in advance.

 

  • Is there a bar at the hotel?
    Yes! Schani’s Bar is the perfect spot to grab a bite, meet friends, or relax with a drink. Don’t miss our Happy Hour from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., with 30 % off cocktails and beer.

 

  • Can external guests visit the bar?
    Of course, we always love welcoming new faces!

Arrival, Transport & Accessibility

  • Where can I find Hotel Schani Wien Hauptbahnhof?
    You will find us at Karl-Popper-Straße 22, just a few minutes’ walk from Vienna Central Station. Detailed arrival information can be found here.

 

  • Is there a parking garage at the hotel?
    Yes, we have our own underground garage (entrance on Alfred-Adler-Straße). Parking costs 3.80 € per hour, max. 25 € per day. Just take a ticket as you enter the garage and pay at reception.

 

  • How do I reach the hotel by public transport?
    Right outside our front door is the tram line D stop Alfred-Adler-Straße. The nearest subway station is just a 5-minute walk away at Vienna Central Station.

 

  • Is there an airport shuttle?
    We don’t offer a shuttle service, but we will gladly help you arrange an airport taxi. Just email us before your arrival.

 

  • Is the hotel accessible?

  • Can I charge my electric car nearby?
    Our garage has both a Tesla and a universal charging station.

 

  • Are there bicycle parking facilities?
    Yes, you will find a bike rack right in front of the entrance.

    At Hotel Schani Wien Hauptbahnhof, there are three seminar and event spaces: Schani’s Boardroom for small meetings, Schani’s Ground Floor with direct access to the garden, and Schani’s Rooftop with views over Vienna and a private rooftop terrace.

    The capacities of our rooms vary depending on the seating arrangement.
    Schani’s Boardroom: up to 7 people
    Schani’s Rooftop: up to 99 people
    Schani’s Ground Floor: up to 70 people

 

  • Is catering available, and are there package prices?
    Yes, we are happy to provide catering during your event – from coffee breaks to lunch and even a relaxed get-together to round off the day.

Coworking Space

  • Who can use the coworking space?
    The coworking space, located in the gallery above our lobby, is available to both hotel guests and external visitors. For hotel guests, the coworking space is free of charge.

 

  • When is the coworking space open?
    Our coworking space is open 24/7.

 

  • What options are there for renting a desk in the coworking space?
    At our coworking space, you can choose between Fix Desks and Flex Desks. If you rent a Fix Desk, your workstation is reserved for you every day. You will also receive a lockable cabinet to store your personal belongings.

    With a flexible desk, you can use any available desk during your visit. On your next visit, you can choose a new one.

    All desks are equipped with a monitor. Ultra-high-speed Wi-Fi as well as black-and-white printing are already included in the rental price.

 

  • How can I rent a desk?
    You can easily purchase your coworking pass in our online shop.

Digital Travel Companion

  • What can our digital travel companion do for you?
    We have digitalized lots of things, so you can really focus on enjoying your stay in Vienna. You can fill out all your personal details on our form in advance of your arrival using our Web App. This means you can do your mobile check-in and mobile check-out simply and easily via smartphone. We will send you all the information you need beforehand by email.

    Your smartphone will also become your room key thanks to our Web App. Your mobile key will be ready to download directly after check-in. However, should you prefer a good old-fashioned key card, we will gladly give you one.
