Hotel Schani Wien: Frequently asked questions

Bookings & Cancellations

  • Which payment methods are accepted?
    Payment methods accepted for overnight stays are AMEX, Apple Pay, Diners, Discover, Klarna, Maestro, Mastercard, UnionPay in Euro and Visa. Charges for services on invoices to be paid at a later date must be discussed with Hotel Schani Wien in advance.

    Payment methods accepted on-site for the consumption of food and drinks or other goods and services provided by Hotel Schani Salon include cash in euros, or payments by debit card, AMEX, Apple Pay, Diners, Discover, Google Pay, JCB, Maestro, Mastercard, UnionPay in Euro, Visa, Apple Pay, Vpay.

  • Do I need to make a down payment when booking?
    No deposit is required when booking a flexible rate. When booking a non-refundable rate, the full amount will be charged directly to the credit card provided at the time of booking.

  • How long is the free-of-charge cancellation period?
    When booking a flexible rate, you can cancel or change your booking free-of-charge until 3:00 pm on the day of arrival. Should you cancel after 3:00 pm on the day of your arrival, you will be charged the full amount of your stay. Additionally, your right to use the room will become void. Should you want to change your booking and the desired alternative dates are unavailable, you will not be able to change your reservation.

    Should you have booked a non-refundable rate, the full amount of your reservation will be charged to your credit card.
    In general, non-refundable reservations cannot be cancelled or changed and your money will not be refunded. If your credit card is denied, Hotel Schani Salon reserves the right to cancel your reservation. This will also void your right to use any room. 

  • Does the room rate include taxes?
    Our rates include all mandatory taxes, levies, and fees. Should tax, levy or fee levels change or new, additional taxes, levies and fees be introduced, Hotel Schani Salon reserves the right to adjust its rates appropriately. Our room rates are shown per room per night. 

Check-in & check-out

  • What are your check-in and check-out times?
    You can check into your room from 3:00 pm onwards. Should you arrive earlier, you can store your luggage at the hotel and start exploring the wonderful city of Vienna.
    Check-out is until 11:00 am.

  • Is there an option for late check-out?
    Unfortunately, a late check-out is not possible with us. 

Reception & Bar

  • Is the reception open 24/7?
    You can arrive at our hotel around-the-clock. However, please let us know if you wish to arrive after midnight.

  • Does the hotel have a bar?
    Yes, our bar is the perfect place for delicious drinks following an extensive shopping tour. Visit whenever you want, we are open around the clock!
    Do you prefer coffee? Then, help yourself to some coffee from the coffee machine in the lobby.

  • Are external visitors allowed in your bar?
    Of course! For external guests, our bar is open until 10 pm. 

Breakfast

  • When is breakfast?
    Breakfast is available from 7:00 am to 10:30 am on Mondays to Fridays and from 7:00 am to 11:00 am at the weekends and on public holidays.

  • Does breakfast cost extra?
    You can add breakfast to your booking at 22 € per person.
    If you are already staying with us and haven’t booked breakfast, you can enjoy it spontaneously for 22 € per person. Just ask one of our Guest Schanis at reception.  

  • Can external guests have breakfast at your hotel?
    Of course, our breakfast is available to both hotel guests and external visitors. So, get your friends and family and head over to us at Hotel Schani Salon – we’ve got a delicious, well-stocked buffet with a wide range of delicacies that no one can resist. External guests can enjoy our breakfast buffet for 23 € per person.

Digital travel companion

  • What can our digital travel companion do for you?
    We have digitalized lots of things, so you can really focus on enjoying your stay in Vienna. You can fill out all your personal details on our form in advance of your arrival using our Web App. This means you can do your mobile check-in and mobile check-out simply and easily via smartphone. We will send you all the information you need beforehand by email.

    Your smartphone will also become your room key thanks to our Web App. Your mobile key will be ready to download directly after check-in. However, should you prefer a good old-fashioned key card, we will gladly give you one.

  • Where can I administer my booking?
    You can find your reservation here. Our tip: get yourself a user account to keep track of your booking. 

Arrival & Mobility

  • What is the easiest way to get to Hotel Schani Salon?
    The U3 subway station Neubagasse is right in front of the hotel. Just take the exit called Innere Mariahilfer Strasse. Hotel Schani Salon is located diagonally opposite of the Desigual store, on the first floor, right above the textile shop Komolka. By the way, it’s only three stops on the U3 to Stephansplatz, right in the city center.   • How do I get to Hotel Schani Salon from the airport?
    The Railjet train service will take you directly from Vienna International Airport to Vienna’s Main Station within 15 to 20 minutes and runs between 6:30 am to 11:00 pm From there, you can take the subway line U1 (direction Leopoldau) to Stephansplatz, where you can change to the U3 subway line (direction Ottakring) and get out at Neubaugasse station. Hotel Schani Salon is right next to the exit.

  • Is there an airport shuttle?
    Unfortunately, there is no airport shuttle from Hotel Schani Wien. However, should you still need one, we can organize an airport taxi for you. Just contact us!

  • How do I get to Hotel Schani Salon from Vienna’s Main Station?
    Should you arrive by train at Vienna’s Main Station, you can take the 13A bus line (direction Skodagasse), which will take you to Neubaugasse.
    Alternatively, you can take the U1 subway line (direction Leopoldau) and change to the U3 subway line (direction Ottakring) at Stephansplatz. The U3 will take you to Neubaugasse and Hotel Schani Salon is located directly in front of the station exit called Innere Mariahilfer Strasse.
    Should your train arrive at Westbahnhof, just take the U3 subway line (direction Simmering) for two stops until you arrive at Neubaugasse. Hotel Schani Salon is located directly in front of the station exit called Innere Mariahilfer Strasse.

  • I want to come by car, is there a car park?
    Hotel Schani Salon is located in the pedestrian zone of Mariahilfer Strasse. The U3 subway station Neubaugasse (exit called Innere Mariahilfer Strasse) is right in front of the hotel. You can find us on the first floor, right above the Komolka textile shop. There are a staircase and lift that will take you up to our hotel. We offer our guests parking at the near-by Gerngross car park (about 150 meters from the hotel) for a parking fee of 25 € per day. The car park is open 24/7. Please come with your car park ticket to the reception before you go and leave the car park with your vehicle. The address of the Gerngross car park is:

  • Where can I charge my electric car?
    EV owners can find a number of charging stations on the ground floor near the entrance of the Gerngross car park. Our guests can charge their vehicles there, while relaxing at the hotel or in their Smart Rooms. 

  • Can I hire a scooter, bike or car?
    We have no scooter or bike rental at Hotel Schani Salon. Should you want to hire a car, you can do that directly at the airport: Sixt Car Hire

  • Can I store my luggage if I arrive early or want to depart later?
    You can place your luggage in our storage area free-of-charge, if you arrive earlier or depart later.  

Dogs, Bitcoin & Co

  • Is my dog allowed to stay in the hotel with me?
    We love animals and, so, your dog is also welcome here! However, there is a charge of an additional 19 € per night  for the extra cleaning. Just add your dog to the list when you book via our website

  • Thirsty on your arrival?
    Book your stay of two or more nights via our website and enjoy a welcome Gin & Tonic at Schani’s Bar!

Sights, Restaurants and Shopping

  • I’d like to explore Vienna, but I’ve never been here before. What sights should I see?
    Vienna has many places that are worth a visit! Just ask our Guest Schanis for their recommendations. Otherwise, you can find all the sights in Vienna from A-Z here.

  • Dining like a Viennese, what do you recommend?
    We are situated in Vienna’s 7th District, which is full of hip restaurants, cafés, and bars. Just ask our Guest Schanis for recommendations. We can find something to suit everyone!

  • Where is a good place to go shopping?
    What would a holiday be without proper shopping tour? Thankfully, Hotel Schani Salon is right on Mariahilfer Strasse, one of Vienna’s biggest shopping streets. You can find other shopping streets in Vienna here.
